Founder of R;pple, an innovative charity which helps prevent at-risk web users searching for harmful content.

Alice's venture into the realm of cybersecurity began in 2012. She has worked for global institutions across the UK, Australia and the US.

In November 2020, Alice experienced a profound personal loss when her brother, Josh, took his own life at the age of 21. Josh's passing was precipitated by his exploration of online resources detailing methods of self-harm, a choice tragically mirrored by many across the globe.

Fuelled by a resolute desire to transform this grim reality, Alice embarked on a mission to offer support to individuals searching for harmful online content.

With unwavering determination, she established a pioneering technology charity named R;pple; a digital tool designed to intercept searches associated with self-harm and suicide, thereby providing users with immediate access to mental health resources at their most vulnerable moments.

R;pple's impact has been both profound and far-reaching. With millions of downloads globally, this digital intervention has intercepted over 100,000 harmful online searches, exemplifying how technology can be leveraged for the greater social good.

Through her endeavours, Alice not only honours her brother's memory, but also illuminates a path toward hope for countless individuals worldwide. Alice dedicates her Honorary Degree to her brother, Josh.
