Intelligent Analytics
In this instalment of the Innovate & Elevate forum, we show how analytics of quantitative and qualitative data can help businesses with insights and better planning.
One of the greatest challenges facing retailers is to identify and estimate seasonal patterns with very short time-series data histories. Huijing will present findings from analysing data provided by Walmart, one of the largest retailers in the world. The research work was published in a top academic journal and a leading practitioners journal. Huijing will show how the cross-learning framework she developed with colleagues benefited Walmart.

Presenters
Huijing Chen is a Senior Lecturer in Operations Management. She joined the University of
ÂÒÂ×ÉçÇø in 2013 and has taught undergraduate and postgraduate modules in Operations
Management and Business Analytics. Her research expertise lies in modelling seasonal variations in time series demand through cross learning. Her current work is in Machine Learning and its impact for organisations and supply chains.
